Best Care Home in Plymouth, Devon
Making the decision about which is the Best Care Home for you or your loved one can be difficult. If you pay us a visit, we're confident that you will be very pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere is bright and welcoming.
The Retreat Residential Care Home was established in 1998 to provide older people with high-quality care in a friendly, homely environment. It's up-to-date and well-equipped; and staffed by fully-trained, experienced professional care workers.
Our Mission is that everyone should have access to high quality care. At the heart of this philosophy is an individually tailored specialist care package, designed to offer the best care outcomes for each of our residents. We call this outcomes-based care planning!
Every individual is unique and special. We recognise each person has the right to voice and otherwise express their views, state their opinions and make choices. All residents are informed of their condition, and are given help in understanding how to accept their assessed care needs.
Care does not mean the end of active life. As we grow older, there are inevitably things we can no longer do. But life doesn't have to stop. At The Retreat Residential Care Home, we believe it's important to encourage residents to live a full and active life, and to take up new ventures, interests and activities. Importantly, we never force anybody to partake in organised activity. Because our residents do only what they want to do, and activities can be arranged for individuals as well as groups, many health professionals have stated that we are the best care home.

We are always looking to make improvements
A high standard Residential Care Home such as The Retreat is a very good alternative to Home Care, but if you are looking for good live in carers supervised by an agency we recommend our sister company Sunshine Care (see https://www.sunshinecare.co.uk/). Sunshine Care's surplus income is reinvested in our business. This ensures that our standard of care is always improving, and that we can arrange continual training courses for our staff.
