activities

Group ActivityThe home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage each person to remain mobile and retain an interest in living. The Retreat believes that its service users should expect their quality of life to be enhanced by the provision of safe, well-maintained and comfortable facilities. At the same time as supporting people we seek to maximise their independence and resourcefulness.

Couple relaxingOur happy staff encourage those in their care to pursue their hobbies and interests and to engage in craft activities. Their choice of interests and activities is established upon admission to the home and all residents asked about their choice of activities and outings at residents' meetings; and each month we ask if people would like to do something different. A notice of all events is displayed on the main notice board. Feedback is also obtained each month on satisfaction with the activities that have taken place.

The Lavender Girls

Lavender GirlsThis picture shows two of our residents having fun, sorting out the best of the lavender flowers they have picked in order to make pot-pourri for their bedrooms. We do not impose our ideas upon anyone or force someone into group activities against their will. If you so choose you can find quiet areas to read, to sit and contemplate nature, or simply to have a quiet nap in peace.
